It's as though they have Bordeaux wine running through their blood... Well they do! The pedigree of this family is evident in this wines structure, distinctive character and elegance. In it's youth it is fine grained and integrated showing classical Cabernet characteristics of cassis and dried forrest floor accompanied by hints of tomato leaf. I don't really love Australian Cabernet, but when it's made like this I love it! - Chris L
Ninth-generation winemaker Dominique Portet chose the cool climate of aptly named Coldstream in the Yarra Valley as home to the eponymous winery he founded in 2000.
It was the culmination of a tenacious search for grapegrowing terroir to rival that of his native Bordeaux ‚– but also the start of a new chapter in a winemaking story that has its roots in France in the early 1700s.
