Tasting Notes
Nerocapitano is the local word for Frappato in this part of the world. It will reward decanting but if you can't resist popping the cork and drinking it from the bottle that's OK. There is an earthy, savoury charm to this that underlies the fruitiness. Cheery and berry notes on the palate all the while maintaining the fresh acidity that you should expect from Frappato; it is yummy and fun with a light dry finish. Again, as with the other Lamoresca wines this best enjoyed with food. - Chris L
Lamoresca is located on a hill, at a height of 430 meters above sea level on sandstone and clay-limestone. The climate is typically Mediterranean; dry, hot summer with little rain. The agricultural farm Lamoresca is situated in the heart of Sicily, in the small town of San Michele di Ganzaria, in the Gigliotto district. In the year 2000 we Purchased our first piece of land, an olive grove with 46 very ancient olive trees of the local Moorish variety, after which we named our farm Lamoresca. Year after year the farm has grown and now we cultivate roughly 10 hectares of land between vineyard and olive grove with the greatest respect for nature.
