Tasting Notes
With the touch of the ex-winemaker from Quintarelli, these very impressive wines from Marion are a reflection of the new breed of Italian producers who combine the best of the modern, and essence of traditional techniques and philosophies reflective of the region. An old school expression of Rondinella and Corvina, light to medium bodied, showing vibrant cherries and red forest berries with typical savoury dusty earthy forest floor notes, white almond, bitumen and spice. This is reminiscent of wines from a more traditional time, so enjoy with food. - Chris L
If you love the wines from Valpolicella but you haven't heard of Marion then you should probably listen up. Alongside Quintarelli, Marion, is one of our favourite producers of Valpolicella, and there is obvious reason for that. Marion's winemaker Celestino Gaspari worked for Giuseppe Quintarelli for 15 years and it is very evident in both the finished wines and the production method. - Chris L
