Tasting Notes
Poggerino's Sangiovese is truely classic with dark cherry fruit on the nose and palate and fine chalky tannins. 14.5% alc. balanced and oh so glugable. - Michael L
Classic cherry fruit, more dark than red in this vintage, and savoury notes of herbs, liquorice and spice. The palate is rich but not heavy, with ripe tannins and a beautiful line of acidity keeping it all together. - Winery Note
The historic Poggerino property was once part of the estate of Prince Ginori Conti, a member of one of Florence’s oldest families. Today the estate, situated at Radda in the heart of Chianti Classico, is run by highly-dedicated brother and sister team, Piero and Benedetta Lanza, who took over from their father in the mid-eighties. Piero Lanza strives to produce a wine that best expresses the typicity of Sangiovese, while reflecting the individuality of Poggerino’s terroir. - Winery Note
