Tasting Notes
Dark, darker, darkness. This is not a negative profile of the wine - it's actually a compliment. It's very rare these days to find a black fruited, savoury rendition of Shiraz in warm climate Australia. Michael Dhillon picks this wine about 2 weeks before anyone in Heathcote is even contemplating it and it's all the better for it. This varietal wine shows dark spice of anise and aniseed, clove and pepper that mould nicely around the black fruits mentioned earlier. The palate is long with moderate concentration and refreshing acidity. It's a serious Shiraz for those of you who want to drink some of the best this country has to offer. - Chris L
