Emilia-Romagna is home to some of Italy’s most loved wines such as Lambrusco and produces a variety of whites and reds that match the rich culinary tradition of the region.
LOCATION:
Emilia-Romagna spans 240km wide and is the only region with both an east and west coast. It is sandwiched between Tuscany to the south, Lombardy and Veneto to the north and the Adriatic Sea to the east.
TERROIR:
The rolling hills and Apennine peaks to the west give way to the lower-lying plains east of Parma, Modena and Bologna. The river Po flows west to east across all these features, marking the region's northern border and linking the Apennines to the Adriatic Sea. The Po helps to moderate temperatures and additionally provides cooling breezes to vineyards within its vicinity.
VARIETIES:
The primary grape varieties of the region are Malvasia, Lambrusco, Trebbiano, Bonard, Barbera and Sangiovese.
PRODUCERS:
Chiara Condello, Fattoria Zerbina, Paltrinieri, La Stoppa, San Valentino
