The majority of Port wine is made from Red Grapes. When Port is made from White Grapes it is simply known as White Port. The grape varieties commonly used to produce this style of Port are: Malvasia Fina, Donzelinho, Gouveio, Codega and Rabigato.
White Port can be dry or sweet depending on the house style. Colheita is the most famous and prestigious of the White Port's as it has to be from a single vintage and usually aged longer to obtain more complex characteristics. They are rare and unique.
