Yangarra
Yangarra is a producer that hardly needs introduction. An icon of Mclaren Vale, Yangarra have been extremely influential for biodynamic farming in the area and for championing the potential of Southern Rhone varieties in the region, particularly Grenache as their flagship grape. The property spans 170 hectares in total, of which 90 are planted under vine with the remainder dedicated to native vegetation and wildlife to enhance the symbiotic relationship between vines and their natural environment.
“While we are best known for our detailed, thought-provoking, and age-worthy wines, our estate also provides the opportunity to craft wines that emphasize freshness and drinkability."
The Yangarra Circle Range is a celebration of vibrant, fruit-forward wines crafted from estate-grown biodynamic fruit. Nestled in the north-east of McLaren Vale, Yangarra’s single-vineyard estate benefits from ancient soils, high-altitude vines, and a Mediterranean climate, providing the perfect setting for Rhône varieties to thrive. The 'Circle' range is designed for casual settings and immediate enjoyment and satisfaction while still embodying the high-standards of farming and quality that Yangarra are known for. This line is a refreshing contrast to the more age-worthy, single-site expressions that Yangarra has built their reputation on.
We've picked up the full range of these wines from the 2024 vintage to share with you. The 'Piquepoul' thrives on the estate and produces a refreshing acid-driven wine full of lemon and seaspray that is perfect for oysters. The 'Grenache Blanc' is vibrant with some texture with a zesty nose suited to seafood. The 'Rose' is a fresh picnic wine with classic strawberry and hip notes. The 'Field Blend' is a blend of Grenache, Carignan, Cinsault, Counoise, Mourvèdre, and Shiraz with vibrant red fruits and also drinks well slightly chilled. The 'Grenache' is a fun nouveau style exploding with pure red fruits. Finally, the 'Shiraz' is bursting with fruit and spice and perfect for a casual BBQ. These are some fun and interesting wines from one of Australia's greatest producers - stock up on these before Easter!
