It's been hard to tell if Pet-Nats are still a thing or not, although if the last few months are any indication then they are here to stay, they're just much better and cleaner now. I tried this Chenin Pet-Nat from WA's Swan Valley the other week with modest expectations and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. This is fresh, fun and shows lively varietal Chenin characters of apple, chamomile with a somewhat powdery, effervescent mouthfeel. Perfect for picnics in the sun and casual get-togethers - this Pet-Nat will not disappoint.

THE OCCASSION EDIT: SPRING WINES
This is what Spring living is all about. Long lunches that roll into dinner, a table out in the sun and everyone slowly drifting inside as the sun goes down. Prawns on the grill, crudo, charcuterie and plenty of mates call for fresher, lighter wines.
Kick things off with the Bellebonne Bis Sparkling Rosé and the Schmolzer & Brown Thorley Nebbiolo sparkling - two great Aussie sparklings. Then move on to the bright, fresh, but not lacking a punch: El Castro Godello and Daniele Piccinin’s Muni Larion Bianco for the seafood. As the night rolls on, naturally we lean into the reds which will still be light, detailed and a joy to drink. The Agricola VinB D’Altri Tempi Rosso and Daniel Gómez Jiménez-Landi’s perfumed Las Uvas de la Ira Garnacha are just the thing for the grilled meats.
