One of Australia's most reliable natural winemakers has made another yummo red! When opened give it a bit of a splash around in a decanter to free the wine up after it's been shut down under a crown seal. Yep, you heard right, forget corks and screwcaps we're now moving into a new era of closure, so you needn't be afraid. The crown seal is a fantastic idea, especially as most of us as consumers drink wines within the month of purchasing it. It keeps it nice and fresh! Once the wine opens up blue fruits jump out of the glass with a stemmy, carbonic nature like most of James Erskine's wines. This is less slick than the Grenache he produces as the Cabernet component of the Franc lends itself to more tannic wines.
