PRODUCER PROFILE: AGRICOLA VINB
Biagio Distefano and Vittorio D'Angelo founded Agricola VinB in 2022 with a single hectare of leased vines in Vittoria. Agricola VinB is the culmination of experience gained with some of Sicily’s most respected producers - Vittorio spent over three years at Arianna Occhipinti, while Biagio worked as a sommelier in London before joining COS.
VinB currently work with almost 5 hectares of organically farmed vines spread across 3 vineyards in Vittoria, Chiaramonte Gulfi and Licodia Eubea. Through regenerative farming, cover crops and meticulous vineyard work, Biagio and Vittorio have revitalised neglected vineyards and established new plantings on some of the region’s most distinctive soils. Biodiversity, soil health and wild fermentations form the foundation of wines that speak clearly of their landscape.
We've just picked up 4 different wines from this exciting new producer. The '25 'Viaggio ad Ovest Cataratto' is incredibly fresh and mineral while the '25 'Ti Voglio Bere Rosato' shows a nice array of red-fruited flavours and spice from a Nero d'Avola dominant blend with some Frappato. The '25 'D'Altri Tempi Rosso' is the perfect crunchy Spring light red and the '25 'Zappa e Puta Frappato' shows a nice combination of red and dark fruits under layers of spice. These are some of the most exciting wines coming out of Sicily - give them a try today!
