Producer Profile: Paul Gosset + Just In: Tolpuddle

PRODUCER PROFILE: PAUL GOSSET

The Gosset family has been established in the village of Aÿ, in the heart of the Marne Valley for 2 generations now and since 2016, Paul Gosset has taken over from his father Michel Gosset. For Paul, most of the work is done in the vineyard. As a keen observer and defender of soil life, Paul Gosset's first priority is to promote biodiversity in his vineyards. From an early stage, Paul decided to eschew chemicals in the vineyard and has started a project to plant trees around the edges and even within his plots and uses green manure to between the vines too.

In the cellar, the wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts and receive a great deal of attention. No oenological make-up, Paul wants to remain faithful to the grapes he grows and harvests.
Barrels are used for aging most of the wine, sulphur is kept to a minimum and the dosages are small to preserve that chalky terroir.

We've already sold some of these but have some leftover to share. The 'Au Fils de Printemps' is meant to be a representation of Spring with amazing freshness and acidity. The 'La Montre 3 Heures' is based on a blend of 3 vintages which come together to provide a snapshot of 3 years and 'L'Ete Blanc des Noirs' is the Summer counterpart to the first wine made from 100% Pinot Noir in top-tier territory. These are some stunning Champagnes that don't come around very often, stock up for Spring and Summer now!

Come down to the store this Saturday to taste the volcanic wines of Vigneti Vecchio from Mt. Etna!

Vigneti Vecchio are a family-run winery based in the village of Solicchiata on the north side of Mt. Etna. Carmelo Vecchio and his wife Rosa La Guzza have been making some spectacular wines for 10 years now. Carmelo worked for almost 20 years at the iconic Passopisciaro and Rosa inherited some vines with almost 100 years of age on them. Naturally, this combination for Etnean excellence.
