Marananones Picarana Albillo 2012

Who among you have had the opportunity of trying a wine made from 100% Albillo grapes?
It's nutty, rich, spicy and fruit driven with hints of honey, nuts and textural mouth-feel. {{widget type="catalog/product_widget_link" anchor_text="Marananones Picarano Albillo 2012" title="Marananones Picarano Albillo 2012" template="catalog/product/widget/link/link_inline.phtml" id_path="product/3129"}}

Smokestack Yarra Valley Pinot Gris 2014

Smokestack by Ar Fion Pinot Gris is so interesting and tasty. It has colour, almost rose-like colour which is natural since it was made with lots of skin contact and the skins of Pinot Gris have indeed got colour. There is a plumpness to this but it is also lovely and lean and dry with a bit of mouth-watering acidity and fresh skinn-y tannins that make it a delightful Gris well worth sipping. {{widget type="catalog/product_widget_link" anchor_text="Smokestack by ArFion Pinot Gris 2014" title="Smokestack by ArFion Pinot Gris 2014" template="catalog/product/widget/link/link_inline.phtml" id_path="product/6441"}}

Didier Barossa Grenache 2014

This Grenache is excellently made with good fruit weight, lithe acidity and fleshy mid-palate appeal. It's overall a lightly structured but complex wine with lots to like about it.

Gaia Notios White

Medium bodied and good fruit weight. I never expected such a good value white to come out of Greece with texture and strength of character. Delicious.

Pipoli Bianco 2013

Another medium bodied style. Lively and fruity with a lovely dry finish, it almost tingles on your tongue.

Dormilona Chenin Blanc 2014

What a wine. On the leaner side of Chenin Blanc but still very expressive of the variety. Organically grown and made in a hands-off fashion to really accentuate its natural characteristics.

Falesco Et Me Rosso 2012

A medium bodied red that is the ultimate pizza wine. It’s probably the most relaxing of the reds so make sure you enjoy in that sort of company. Savoury, fine and balance.

La Roche Buissiere Petit Jo CdR 2013

Mostly made up of Grenache with a splattering of Shiraz and Merlot about the place. It’s a fun and flirtatious wine that gives so much on the nose and palate. Blue fruits and a silky texture up front which finishes nice and dry. From one of the first organic producers in the Rhone Valley of France.

Metrat Chiroubles Beaujolais 2011

Gamay should be drunk more in Australia. Put it in the fridge for 20 minutes before drinking and let it rip. Its lights bodied, floral and lifted. Perfect for those hot days in summer when you want to drink a nice light red.

Bodegas Mengoba Brezo Mencia 2013

Funky little number! Earthy and dirty in the best possible way. Mencia is the variety and it hails from the far north west of Spain.

Wickham’s Road Gippsland Chardonnay 2014

Forget the Chardonnays of old. This is fresh, youthful and fruit driven with hints of oak and secondary complexity. Drinking nicely now but I’d prefer it with about 6 months more in the bottle. Made by Hoddles Creek who are based in the Yarra Valley and producing perhaps the best value wines of the region.

Pulenta La Flor Malbec 2013

Rich and ripe with the classic malbec savouriness on the finish. It’s a great drinking wine and even better with BBQ’d anything.
