Sami Odi Little Wine #4

Fraser popped in to the store a few weeks ago with just two wines to show us this year. The wines he had open were the Little Wine #4 and the ODI "DW OLD" Shiraz 2013. In his usual manner he was no fuss and no bull...and let the wines speak for themselves. Well, we liked them a lot so here is the first notes on the Little Wine with the ODI DW OLD notes to follow in a week.

Sami Odi Little Wine #4 -Fraser's Notes: "An unvintaged assemblage of declassified barrels from 2012 (17%), 2013 (44%) & 2014 (39%) sourced from our plots within the Hoffmann 'Dallwitz' vineyard Planted in 1996, 1995, 1994, 1960, 1927 & the oldest vines planted prior to 1912. 5138 bottles were filled"

"This is lithe and flavoursome with a lean backbone of acidity and supple tannins that carries the fruited palate through to a long finish. Delighfully constructed in a lighter style albeit a tad heavier version of the Little Wine compared with last year's release it still dances a delicate jig on the palate. Very gluggable stuff from Fraser. This is a multi-vintage blend reflecting the three years (2012, 2013 and 2014) of it's constuant ferments so while it is true to the overall style of previous releases it remains slightly different and so it should."
