This Montepulciano by La Valentina represents insanely good value - we only got it back in stock last week and had to re-order some more because you churned through them all! This wine has all those great Montepulciano characters - dark fruits, violets, lavender and a supple medium body. This is often my answer to "give me a nice red pizza wine". This is the wine to get you through the last cold spell of winter - snap these up!

The Occasion Edit: Asian Dinner BYO
Pete and I have had a few customers ask us recently for suggestions on what to bring to drink at our newly renovated neighbour - Bar Asia. BYO Asian spots are always a go-to for us wine nerds and punters alike. There's nothing quite like scoffing down some noodles and spicy meat with an off-dry Riesling or light red.
Given Bar Asia just celebrated their 19th birthday and have done up the dining area nicely, we thought this was a good excuse to get some people drinking good wine and supporting a small local business. You can of course take these wines to any place but why not pop into the store and walk less than 10 metres to dinner?
We've selected 6 wines here that would go well with their food. It's easy to default to an off-dry Riesling for Asian food but I've tried to add a few other choice selections into the mix for diversity. Grab yourself some of these and dig into some epic Asian food!
