The event that we've all been waiting for is here - the last Annandale Cellars Wine Fair of the year!

The Annandale Cellars wine fair is the perfect opportunity to try a range of great wines from around the world and to have a great time on a Saturday afternoon!

You will be able to taste excellent producers such as: Matthieu Barret, Rovellotti, Elanto, Max Ferdinand Richter, Stoney Rise, Forjas del Salnes, Mazzolino, De Fermo, Bande Apart, Sentio, Olivier Horiot, Robert Moncuit, Villa Bucci, Scarpa, Mastroberardino, Vincent Couche, Domaine de Montbourgeau and many more!

Purchase of a ticket will get you entry to the event for the full 4 hours where you can taste as much as you like as well as your own Riedel glass to take home!

Halcyon Days

Halcyon Days is the project of Amy and Olly Hopkinson-Styles, who craft exceptional certified organic wines with energy and tension from Te Matau a Māui, Aotearoa. These are some of the most exciting wines coming out of New Zealand's Hawke's Bay - perfect for the warmer months with their freshness, delicacy, energy and gloriously pure fruit profiles. All of the grapes for these wines are grown on one organic site with vines planted over alluvial red gravels that benefit from cool and abundantly luminous conditions. All of their wines are made from handpicked grapes and natural fermentations without any fining, filtering or any other additions. The 2024 harvest was a strong one following the 2023 harvest that saw parts of the vineyard destroyed by Cyclone Gabrielle. This vintage saw much welcome warmth that helped give some phenolic oomph to these wines after recovering from the cyclone damage.

We picked a dozen of each of these great wines to share with you. The '23 'Vermillion Rose' is a unique blend of 93% Sangiovese and 7% Chardonnay - one batch of grapes was direct-pressed and the other portion was macerated as a red wine to be blended together to create an ultra-light red wine or darker style of rosé. The '24 'Halcyon Sauvignon Blanc' is a captivating orange wine made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc that sees 10 days of skin maceration (half de-stemmed, half whole bunches) before resting in tank on full lees for 12 months. Definitely one of the best orange wines coming out of New Zealand. Finally, the '24 'Alcyone Sangiovese' is 100% Sangiovese that is partially de-stemmed and macerated for 10 days to produce a light and fresh rendition of the famous Tuscan grape. These are some of the most exciting wines from New Zealand's Hawke's Bay region - try them out for yourself!
