Galicia is Spain’s Atlantic stronghold, producing some of the country’s freshest and most mineral-driven wines. Long known for its whites, the region is also gaining recognition for elegant, lighter-bodied reds grown in challenging vineyard conditions. 

LOCATION: 
Galicia is located in northwest Spain along the Atlantic coast, bordering Portugal.

TERROIR: 
The climate is cool and wet with strong Atlantic influence. Granite and slate soils dominate, and vineyards are often planted on steep slopes or terraced hillsides, particularly in Ribeira Sacra. 

VARIETIES: 
Albariño is the flagship white in Rías Baixas. Godello thrives in Valdeorras, producing textured, ageworthy whites. Mencía is the primary red grape, particularly in Ribeira Sacra.
