Translation missing: en.Ribera del Duero: Ribera del Duero

Ribera del Duero has firmly established itself as one of Spain’s benchmark regions for powerful, ageworthy red wines. Known for its extreme climate and high-altitude vineyards, the region produces wines of depth and structure while retaining freshness through significant diurnal temperature variation.

LOCATION:
Ribera del Duero is located on the northern Meseta plateau in Castilla y León, following the upper reaches of the Duero River.

TERROIR:
The climate is strongly continental, with hot summers, cold winters, and large day–night temperature swings. Vineyards sit between 750 and 1,000 metres above sea level. Soils are predominantly clay-limestone with sandy and gravelly topsoils.

VARIETIES:
Tempranillo (locally known as Tinto Fino or Tinta del País) dominates production. Small amounts of international varieties are permitted but rarely central. White wines are minimal and mainly based on Albillo.

PRODUCERS:
Vega Sicilia , Pingus, Dominio del Aguila, Dominio de Es, Dominio de Atauta.
