Brachetto is red grape variety from the north of Italy predominantly in Piedmont. Generally speaking the best examples of the style can be found in Asti where it is produced in a lighter style with ample fresh tropical flavours and with spritz (light sparkling effect). These wines also retain some residual sugar not unlike Moscato.
