Collection: Chateau Pavie Decesse
Château Pavie-Decesse was a tiny Grand Cru Classé estate in Saint-Émilion, closely linked to its famous neighbour Château Pavie. Originally part of Pavie, the 3.5-hectare vineyard was separated in 1885 and sits entirely on the limestone plateau above the village, with clay over the region’s distinctive limestone. Planted predominantly to Merlot with around 10% Cabernet Franc, it produced powerful, concentrated and long-lived wines with the freshness and mineral character typical of the plateau. Gérard Perse acquired the property in 1997, a year before purchasing Château Pavie, and brought the two estates under the same exacting approach to viticulture and winemaking. From the 2022 vintage, the Pavie-Decesse vineyards were formally incorporated back into Château Pavie, bringing its long history as an independent estate full circle.
