Ok, heres a tricky one for beginners.

The Grape: Montepulciano (the red wine grape) originated in and around Abruzzo in Italy. It typically produces a wine of some rusticity and with a plump, plummy, earthy fruit spectrum. It is planted in many places throughout the world now and has found a home as far afield as Australia and New Zealand.

The Place: Montepulciano (the place) is located east of Tuscany and not surprisingly produces wine. But, the wines of Montepulciano (the place) named "Vino Nobile di Montepulciano" are made from Sangiovese.
