Collection: Chateau de La Chaize
Château de La Chaize is one of Beaujolais’ most historic and beautiful estates, established in 1676 in the heart of Brouilly. With more than 250 hectares of contiguous land—nearly 100 of which are under vine—it is the largest single-estate property in the region. Today, the domaine is undergoing a major revival under the stewardship of Christophe Gruy, with a commitment to sustainable and organic farming, parcel-by-parcel vinification, and a focus on expressing the diversity of its terroirs across Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly and Fleurie.
The vineyards are planted primarily to old-vine Gamay on granitic and volcanic soils, with each parcel vinified separately to preserve site character. In the cellar, gentle extraction, native yeasts, and restrained use of oak highlight fruit purity and mineral definition. The resulting wines show both depth and freshness, offering a refined, modern expression of Beaujolais while honouring the château’s long history.
