Collection: Digestifs & Amaro

Digestif (French) or Digestivo (Italian) are a group of drinks for after your meal. They are said to have medicinal properties that assist in the digestion of food... they are also super tasty! 

The most common digestifs are Amaro's and some famous versions include Montenegro and Averna, but there are a large range of more artisan Amaro's available too. Amaro's are made by taking a base wine, fortifying it and steeping it in a mix of herbs, spices, fruits and vegetables to add flavour - much like a Vermouth. 

Amaro's differ from Vermouth's as they tend to be sweeter and more viscous and are generally darker, but they do have some similar properties.
