Port wine and Australian Port-like wines are typically made in a solera system of fortification and aging. Most often made from red grapes such as Touriga Nacional in Portugal and Shiraz, Grenache and others in Australia. They may be any level of sweetness from drier single vintage styles to rather sweet tawny-like non-vintage blended wines.
