Traditionally grown in the Madiran region of France it has now found a home in many of the world's wine regions. Typically rather dry and tannic in character it adds considerable power and structure when included in a blend. Often, straight tannat wines require breathing prior to drinking and many produced with the assistance of micro oxygenation in order to soften the tannin weight. Click here for more info.
