Collection: White Blends

White Blends. What to say about this collection of wines... they're such a diverse bunch! White Blends are a combination of two or more grape varieties in a single wine. Often these varieties are blended due to the varieties planted in a single vineyard and/or because the winemaker believes the wine is more complete using multiple varieties. For example, one variety might bring acidity and freshness, while another can bring body and weight. There are so many reasons one might blend!

Classic white blends include:

Marsanne and Roussanne: Commonly found in the Northern Rhone
Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris: Commonly found in Alsace
Grenache Gris, Grenache Blanc and Macabeo: Commonly found in Southern Rhone, Languedoc and Roussillon
Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc: Commonly found in Bordeaux
Catarratto and Carricante: Commonly found in Sicily
