Tasting Notes
Sytlistically similar to the Rose's found in Provence - dry, perfumed and elegant. Using the Saignee method of draining/bleeding off juice from a red wine ferment, The Gilbert family have produced a delicate and perfumed style of Rose from the Orange/Mudgee region of NSW. Subtle in character and easy drinking, this wine does everything you want it to for the money. - Chris L
Gilbert Family Wines began its journey in 2004 by fifth generation winemaker Simon Gilbert. Simon has always had a strong desire to do things his own way and create a label true to himself, at the same time paying tribute to his heritage. The winery and cellar door is based in Mudgee (NSW), with grapess being sourced from Mudgee, Orange, Hilltops and Tumbarumba. Will Gilbert (Simon's son) is now at the helm and the wines have never looked better. Will has gained experience in Burgundy under Benjamin Leroux and you can see this influence in his Pinot Noir's and Chardonnay's, the wines he holds in highest regard. - Winery Note
