Domaine Alary is a historic family estate in Cairanne, Southern Rhône, with viticultural roots tracing back to the 17th century. Today it is run by Denis Alary, representing the 10th generation, who has guided the domaine’s transition to organic farming and a focus on purity of terroir. The estate covers around 30 hectares, largely in Cairanne but also extending into Côtes du Rhône appellations, planted mainly to Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre alongside smaller parcels of Cinsault, Carignan and white varieties.
The vineyards sit on a patchwork of soils—stony terraces, clay-limestone slopes, and sandy parcels—that bring both power and finesse to the wines. In the cellar, Alary works with minimal intervention, favouring concrete and large oak over heavy new wood, to let the fruit and minerality shine. The wines are celebrated for their balance, supple textures and depth, ranging from fresh, aromatic whites to richly structured reds that capture the warmth and character of Cairanne.
