Tasting Notes
A really bright and juicy style of Nerello Mascalese from a producer that is new to us, Ayunta. It goes through carbonic fermentation in concrete which brings forward the juicy strawberry and cherry characters and is then left to hang out in old barrels till bottling. Very forward and inviting. - Pete L
The Bonaccorsi story begins with Alice's father on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. The family has gone strength to strength with Alice at the helm and their vineyards grew from 3 hectares to 20 hectares in two decades! All the vineyards follow organic farming practices and are certified under ICEA (Istituto per la Certificazione Etica e Ambientale), where biodiversity is encouraged and systemic chemicals are omitted. The wines are fermented naturally and are fine representations of the energy exuded by Etna.
