Tasting Notes
A lively col fondo style made with Raboso from organically farmed vineyards on calcareous and volcanic soils. Fermented spontaneously and briefly aged in cement before finishing fermentation in bottle, it pours a pale, hazy pink with a gentle frizzante lift. Tart strawberry, toast and herbal notes lead into a dry, mineral palate with bright acidity and a precise finish. With a little air it opens up beautifully, showing more fruit while staying fresh and focused. - Aaron C
Alla Costiera is a small, family-run estate in Veneto, located in the Colli Euganei hills near Padua. It is led by Filippo Gamba, who has guided the vineyards under organic certification since 2004, making the domaine one of the region’s pioneers in sustainable farming. The estate’s vineyards, set on volcanic and calcareous soils, are planted to both native and international varieties, including Glera, Raboso, Merlot, Cabernet, and Moscato, with a strong focus on expressing the character of the Euganean hills.
In the cellar, Filippo works with minimal intervention—native yeast fermentations, low sulphur, and restrained use of oak—crafting wines that are vibrant, pure and true to their terroir. The range spans still and sparkling wines, including Prosecco produced in a fresher, more artisanal style than the industrial norm. Alla Costiera has become recognised for honest, soulful wines that balance drinkability with authenticity, offering a modern, sustainable face for Veneto’s traditions.
