Tasting Notes
An intriguing counterpart to (yet so different from) the rounder-fruited Allies Assemblage Chardonnay blend of subregions from the same Mornington region. The single site Merricks took a little while to loosen-up. Mouthfilling, tight white stonefruit style with saline edges to both the smell and taste for me. Powerful, with an overall dryer (not sweet) feel. 12.8% alc. For those who like their whites fine and edgy while young. Decant it for a while or enjoy after cellaring. - Michael L
