Archie Rose have skipped the Scottish peat entirely and built the smoke in this single malt three ways, through the barley, the casks and even the water, all smoked over native stringybark. What you get is big and bold without being a brute, with smoked meats, glowing campfire coals and a woody smokiness that's unmistakably Australian. A seriously different dram for anyone who likes their whisky with plenty of smoke. - Pete L
