Tasting Notes
I am loving Australian Aligote lately. We are making examples of the variety that I think challenge some of my favourite Burgundy producer's renditions. This is fresh, driven and precise with green apple flesh, citrus zest, flint and a hint of crushed white flowers. Sashimi, crudo, oysters and this wine would be epic. - Pete L
Bande Apart is a boutique wine project led by Jess DiGiorgio (and collaborator Jamie), rooted in South Australia but sourcing from cool, expressive sites. Their vineyards include single-plot parcels in Whitfield (Victoria) and Lenswood (Adelaide Hills), plus fruit from King Valley and Coonawarra. The aim is clear: make wines with light hands, fermented on wild yeasts and bottled without filtration to let vintage, variety and vineyard shine through. From Adelaide Hills Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier to Coonawarra Cabernet Franc and King Valley Aligoté, the range is eclectic yet coherent—each wine bold in identity, committed to purity and authenticity.
