Tasting Notes
If you've never had a Clarete, this is a fun place to start. It's the old-school Spanish take on rosé, a proper blend of red and white grapes all co-fermented together, so you get the freshness of a white and the fruit of a red in the one glass. This one throws seven varieties into the mix, foot-stomped, basket-pressed and fermented in barrel with seven months on lees for real depth. Forget pale and pretty, this is rosé with a savoury, gutsy streak, and it's all the better for it. This is the style of rosé I keep going for lately because it straddles the line between light chilled red and rosé yet ripples with detail in the glass. - Pete L
