Schioppettino is a rare treat in Australia, an old Italian variety you almost never see grown here, so it's a real always fun to see how people handle this variety when grown here. It's a variety made for drinking, typically bursting with bright red and black berries, violets and a real crackle of black pepper spice, all carried on fresh acidity and fine, savoury tannins. This one's made with a gentle hand, a touch of whole bunch, wild ferment and time in old neutral oak, so nothing gets in the way of that spicy, perfumed fruit. Very tasty. - Pete L
