Tasting Notes
Here's a fun and unusual one, an equal blend of Schioppettino, Sangiovese and Nero d'Avola grown on the famous red Cambrian soils of Chalmers' Heathcote vineyard. You don't see much Schioppettino in Australia, which makes this all the more worth a look. It's cofermented, wild and raised in seasoned oak, and it has notes of dark cherry and cola with brambly herbs, a lift of blood orange and some inky stewed plum. Straddles the line between fun and serious with grace. - Pete L
