Tasting Notes
This is a great example of the new direction we are seeing from producers in Rioja that are now making fresher and more focussed wines that lack the oak and extraction. Unlike many wines in the region this wines is predominantly Grenache with the balance being made up of Tempranillo and Graciano. It's fermented in a combination of steel and concrete tanks and then settles in very large format neutral oak vessels.
It's a brighter, more lively expression of Rioja that glides on the palate packed with darker berries and spice. A real winner. - Pete L
Less is more! Minimal intervention or Lo-fi wines encapsulate those producers who keep additions and manipulations to a minimum during the winemaking process. This means the wines are wild fermented, unfiltered and unfined, and only add sulfur during the process.
