Tasting Notes
Aromas of star jasmine and pithy lemon curd jump from the glass. A pristine core of fruit, with elements of white nectarine, grapefruit and lemon all layered under a crystalline halo of delicate floral notes. It has both power and elegance. This is a beautifully balanced wine that finishes with a long flinty, saline edge. - Winemaker Note
Canobolas Wines is a family-run organic estate in Orange, New South Wales, named after the region’s defining landmark, Mount Canobolas, an extinct volcano whose ancient soils and high altitude shape the character of the wines. Established in the late 1980s, the vineyard sits at elevations between 600 and 800 metres, where the cool climate and volcanic earth bring freshness, structure and aromatic lift to the fruit.
The focus is on classic cool-climate varieties—Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc—crafted in small volumes with a philosophy that balances traditional techniques and modern precision. Hand harvesting, careful fermentations and restrained use of oak allow the purity of fruit and the individuality of site to shine through.
Canobolas Wines has become known for producing elegant, finely structured wines that reflect the unique combination of altitude, climate and volcanic soils that define Orange.
