Tasting Notes
One of Tuscany's gifts to the world - Casanova di Neri. The Tenuta Nuova Brunello di Montalcino shows all the hallmarks of amazing Brunello. The 100% Sangiovese (Brunello clone) is far more than a list of aromas and flavours, it's a sensory experience for the body, mind and soul. So intoxicating is the nose, heart-warming is the palate, that one's mind is left to it's own devices. This is classic Brunello at its best. - Chris L
Situated in the northeastern sector of Montalcino, Casanova di Neri meticulously tends to seven distinct vineyards across the region – from Fiesole, Poderuccio, Le Cetine, to Montalcino. This strategic approach enables the creation of several well-balanced unique wines , consistently reflecting the diverse soils, exposures, microclimates, and vine ages, defining the unique identity of each vintage. These wines possess an enchanting allure, evoking imagination.
Established in 1971 by Giovanni Neri, the visionary torchbearer for the potential of Montalcino's wine territory, the legacy seamlessly passed on to his son, Giacomo, in 1991. The journey began in the eastern part of Montalcino and expanded into other areas, acquiring unique terroirs such as Cerretalto, Le Cetine, Pietradonice, and Podernovo. The pursuit of optimal soil and exposures results in wines that are both unique and unmistakably identifiable. The estate's recognition by national and international wine critics underscores its notable contribution to the region.
