Tasting Notes
Castarède Armagnac XO 20-Year-Old is a premium Bas Armagnac produced by Maison Castarède, the oldest Armagnac trading house established in 1832. This expression is a blend of eaux-de-vie aged for at least 20 years in oak barrels, exceeding the minimum requirement for the XO designation.
In the glass, it displays a coppery topaz appearance. The nose reveals intense aromas of raisins, marrons glacés, cigar box, sandalwood, and prune. On the palate, it is full-bodied and harmonious, with notes of rancio, a quality achieved through extended barrel maturation, offering magnificent complexity and length. This Armagnac is best enjoyed neat to appreciate its depth and character. - Aaron C
