Tasting Notes
A wine that overdelivers on all fronts. The Parajes Mencia sits comfortably in the lighter Grenache or heavier Pinot Noir category. At about 13% alc. the red and blue fruits of the Mencia are pronounced among a graphite-like minerality. The palate is suave upfront and finely chalky on the finish. It's long and seductive, perfect with chicken dishes or lighter red meats. This is a beauty from the north-western reaches of Spain in the region of Bierzo. - Chris L
Less is more! Minimal intervention or Lo-fi wines encapsulate those producers who keep additions and manipulations to a minimum during the winemaking process. This means the wines are wild fermented, unfiltered and unfined, and only add sulfur during the process.
