Tasting Notes
Valtuille Vino de Villa is a fresh, elegant Bierzo red made mostly from old vine Mencía, with small additions of local varieties. It opens with floral notes and bright red berries, then flows into juicy cherry and raspberry with soft spice and a light earthy edge. The palate is smooth and fluid with fine tannins and a lively finish, showing in cooler vintages with freshness and lift. A beautifully balanced village wine with plenty of charm and quiet depth. This is fantastic drinking and reminded us of top end Cru Beaujolais for a shadow of the price. - Pete L
