Tasting Notes
If you want a taste of proper Pauillac without the top tier price, this is a lovely way in. Dauphin is the second wine of Grand Puy Ducasse, a near even split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot off the left bank's classic gravel soils. It carries real Pauillac character, smoky and savoury with cassis and plum, tobacco and a touch of chocolate, even a whiff of mushroom. Medium bodied and velvety on the palate, with polished tannins and an earthy finish. Give it a decant and enjoy. - Pete L
