Tasting Notes
A Merlot dominant blend accompanied by Cabernet Franc from Bordeaux. It’s rare to find a Bordeaux red of this stature that shows such beautiful oak integration at such a young age. Pure dark fruits and a chocolate savouriness are in abundance in this youthful red. There is plenty of structure here for longevity, with full, chunky and drying tannins that make your mouth water. Drink at 10+ years of age for the greatest enjoyment. - Chris L
Jacques & Sylvie Guinaudeau are unparalleled winemakers, and have been continuing the family tradition of creating top quality wines in the Pomerol sub-region. Every single "Cru" produced by the Guinaudeau family originates from exceptional massale selections of Bouchet (Cabernet Franc), Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc (from Sancerre), and Semillon. As Antonio Galloni puts it, these wines are "majestic and are of tremendous stature" and with ageing they will all continue to finesse into truly remarkable works of art for your palate.
The very old vines, coupled with sustainable viticulture, are producing some of the most sought after wines on the planet. From Grand Village, to Champs Libres, Perrières, Pensées and Lafleur, each of these six wines carries an extraordinary pedigree from an immaculate terroir and worth every month in the cellar to host a perfect bouquet upon opening.
