Tasting Notes

Look, I'll be straight to the point. This is "Chablis" without the name tag and the price tag. We've been on the hunt for something that fills the gap left by the rising price of imports and this is most certainly it. Don't worry... It's still French and from vineyards next door to Chablis and it gets the same loving treatment as the rest of the proper Chablis that Christophe Patrice produce.  - Pete L

Christophe Patrice is a respected, independent wine producer based in the heart of the Chablis region of Burgundy, France. A native of the village of Beine, Christophe started his own venture in 2006 after working with his family for a decade, eventually expanding his holdings to approximately 22 hectares across the communes of Beine, Courgis, and Chablis.

The philosophy at Domaine Christophe Patrice revolves around showcasing the pure, unadulterated expression of Chardonnay from the region's distinctive Kimmeridgian limestone soils. The vineyards are managed following a lutte raisonnée (sustainable) approach, with a low planting density to promote vine health and fruit quality. In the winery, minimal intervention is key: all wines are fermented using native yeasts and aged exclusively in stainless steel tanks, avoiding oak to preserve the characteristic freshness, minerality, and vibrant acidity of Chablis wines.

The domaine produces a focused portfolio of wines, including Petit Chablis, Chablis, and Chablis Premier Cru (specifically from the Beauregard and occasionally Montmains and Beauroy climats). These wines are highly regarded for their elegance and precision, typically offering notes of green apple, citrus, white flowers, and a distinct flinty minerality.
