Tasting Notes
This wine is from younger vines but they are still pretty darned old (~100 years!). Old vines tend to produce wines of greater fruit concentration and structure because the poor old things produce less bunches of grapes per vine. This wine has elements of that for sure but it is essentially a fine-grained and lightly spicy little wine with oodles of pretty red fruits that flow onto the palate. It finishes with a brightness with ample structure and a mouth-watering acidity that is intoxicating on more than one level. Overall, beautifully seductive appeal that leaves you wanting more. - Chris L
Marcus Cirillo is from a long line of Barossa grape growers with the oldest vines dating back to 1850. His family's dedication in the vineyard to quality, low-yielding fruit comes second to none, flying the flag for the Barossa as one of the original family's who built the culture of the region. - Chris L
