Tasting Notes
Fernao Pires, an obscure Portuguese variety that I am betting not many of us have a lot of experience with. Admittedly, this isn’t what I would assume a classic example of the variety is either. We are seeing a lot of newer producers jump on board with these weird and wonderful varieties, reimagining them with "great success". Yes, I am quoting Borat.
This wine is juicy, very fruit forward and packed full of ripe stone fruit character. Time on skins adds texture and helps give the wine enough structure to hold it all together. Perfect for parties and sharing with mates. - Pete L
Cloud Project aka Wedded to the Weather is the micro-winery of wine old-timer Doug Woodward. Doug's a lovely bloke from Brisbane who travels the country sourcing unique parcels of fruit. You'll see varieties like Vermentino, Prieto Picudo, Durif and Alfrocherio to name a few. They are produced with minimal intervention and are made to be enjoyed young. They're super fun, glug-able wines.
