Tasting Notes
I’m loving the wines coming out of Alto Piedmont, and specifically Gattinara, at the moment. It’s Nebbiolo (locally know as Spanna) without the Barolo price tag… oh, and they’re goooood! Beautifully aromatic yet intricately savoury and structured. It’s pure Nebbiolo. Ethereal. - Chris L
Cantina Delsignore is a well-regarded producer in the Alto Piemonte region of Italy, specifically in the Gattinara area. They are known for their La Crotta Spanna, a red wine made with Nebbiolo grapes, and their Metodo Classico (sparkling wine) produced from Nebbiolo. The wines are enjoyable in their youth but their Gattinara reds benefit from time in the cellar.
