This Meursault 1er Cru Poruzot-Dessus is rich and complex.
Domaine Tessier is a rising star of Meursault’s producers. The Domaine is making refined and complex Chardonnays from the village’s best located vineyards. The Meursault 1er Cru “Le Poruzot-Dessus” is ideally located between the 1er Cru “Les Genevrières” and the 1er Cru “Les Bouchères”.
The nose develops complex flavours of white flowers, white peach, brioche and fresh coffee beans. The taste is structured with a round attack and a rich mid palate. It can be paired with seafood, white meat and cheeses. You can drink it now by decanting 45 minutes before serving, or you can cellar it for eight to ten years. 100% Chardonnay. - Importer Note
The Domaine is under the guidance of Arnaud Tessier. Arnaud was born in Meursault and grew up exploring the village. He began working in the vineyard alongside his father at the tender age of 14. The epitome of a hard worker, Arnaud is also considered among fellow villagers to have a rare gift for wine making.
Arnaud began the story of Tessier wines by starting to bottle a tiny part of the Domaine's production in 2007. Before that, the entire production was sold to the Burgundy 'Négoce " ‚– wine merchants who buy grapes to make wine under their own label. With this tiny first vintage, Tessier was born.
The Domaine has 7.5 Hectares of Meursault's best vineyards. The appellations produced are all whites: Bourgogne Chardonnay 'Champ Perrier ", Meursault 'Les Casse-Têtes ", Meursault 'Les Grands Charrons ", Meursault 1er Cru 'Le Poruzot Dessus ", 'Les Genevrières " and 'Les Charmes Dessus ". Since 2007, the bottled production has increased slightly each vintage.
To capitalise on these exclusive appellations, Arnaud works long hours in the vineyard to achieve perfection. He relies on the constant support and help from his partner, Catherine. She brings her own exceptional experience and craft, having worked for other well-known Domaines, in Burgundy and abroad. They really do make a winning team.
Arnaud's philosophy is to grow the vineyard organically. To do so, he leaves long branches on the vines to aerate the vineyard, avoiding disease and rot. He strictly controls the yields by cutting away excess flower buds during the growing season. Arnaud follows traditional processes which uncover subtle balance and elegance, highlighting the incredible complexity of the different climats.
