Tasting Notes
From an east-facing limestone plot high in the mountains, this 50/50 Grenache and Syrah blend is aged in old foudre and barrel. Pachamama opens with deep aromas of blue and black fruits, touched by oak. Plums, cassis, fruit cake and a flicker of tobacco leaf unfold. Tightly coiled, with notes of black olive and tannins that grip yet invite. There's tension, finesse, and a clear call for food. - Pete L
Nestled against the hillside of Séguret, the family home, known for over a century as "Crève Cœur," gave its name to the estate. This is where the adventure began and a passion was born.
After studying chemical engineering in Strasbourg and Montpellier, I decided to return to my homeland and become a winemaker. To make this dream come true, I trained for two years at the DNO in Montpellier.
In 2010, I took the plunge with the creation of the estate and the acquisition of 2 hectares of old vines in Sablet. The name of the rosé comes from this time when, without premises or equipment, I transformed myself into a "cuckoo" to carry out each stage of the wine's creation, from the vine to its bottling. Solidarity between friends was the sine qua non condition for this adventure.
In 2011, I took over 3 hectares of vines in Séguret and continued to expand the estate to reach 5.5 hectares of mostly old vines. This estate, on a human scale and with low yields, offers a concentrated and authentic wine.
In 2019, construction of the cellar. The "cuckoo" finally makes its nest.
In 2021, the estate expanded. There are 2 additional hectares of vines around the house which will give rise to a new Séguret cuvée (vines facing due east).
